Six questions.
What is CategoryRank?
CategoryRank measures the gap between how AI, OEMs, distributors, and aggregators describe the same categories. Where the funnel disagrees, sourcing teams find arbitrage. Where it converges, the market is efficient.
Who is this for?
Three audiences. Non-inventory brokers + sourcing desks looking for category-level arbitrage. Supply-chain leads measuring concentration risk per category. OEM marketing + product teams checking whether their product page taxonomy matches the AI shelf buyers see.
How is this different from SEO tools or AI-citation trackers?
SEO tools measure search rank after the click. Citation trackers count mentions. Brand awareness tools measure recall. None of them measure the gap between how AI labels a category and how the channel sells against it. We measure the structural fragmentation that determines whether buyers ever see your brand on the AI shelf in the first place.
What does "vocabulary fragmentation" mean exactly?
For each Kim category, we collect the alias forms emitted by AI models, distributor parametric trees, OEM product pages, and aggregators. The top form's share of all observations is the alignment signal. 100% means everyone uses the same word. 10% means the funnel is shattered into many partial-overlap labels.
How often is the data refreshed?
AI vantage refreshes weekly. Distributor parametric trees refresh bi-weekly. OEM product pages refresh monthly until forensic Wayback validation lands. The CategoryRank Ontology refreshes per merge as new categories integrate. Every panel on the site cites its source and last-generated timestamp in a monospace footer line.
What categories are unlocked publicly?
Three demo categories are fully unlocked as marketing surface (currently power-supplies plus two others). All other categories show framework-level counts and qualitative verdict. Brand-level data — per-cohort convergence scores, channel pull, brand category peers, manufacturing footprint — opens with subscription. Subscribe per category; pricing locks at GA.
